2023-24 Was a Great Season by any Measure!

The Miners had a great 2023-24 season, taking 3rd place at the NorCal State Championships and 2nd in the Redwood/Repack region. NICA’s and by extension our core values are: fun, inclusivity, equity, respect, and community. And while the number of times Miners made the podium this season is indeed impressive, there were other metrics for success related to these values that are harder to measure. For instance:

  • Hours spent on training rides: 280

  • Coaches who volunteered time to help on those rides: 35

  • Times “Starships” played during race warm-ups: 37

  • Breakfast burritos assembled and cooked by volunteer parents: 150

  • Happy/sad tears shed at end-of-year party: countless

We are all so proud of the hard work our girls and boys put in this season, and we will miss our three graduating seniors: Mya Marsh, Isabel Ryan and Jeremiah Delcour. You can read their stories on this blog, and get to know our awesome Head Coach, Ty Zwick, and Assistant Head Coach, Dan Goldsmith. We hope everyone has a great school year and we look forward to seeing on October 24 at the Pre-season Info Meeting.
